JPY–VND exchange rate and how it is calculated when placing an order

The exchange rate is published on the website, locked in when you place an order, and used for surcharges for the same item.

Updated 29/09/2026

Item prices on Japanese marketplaces are usually listed in JPY. When you place a purchase order on Suzuki, the payment amount is converted to Vietnamese dong according to the exchange rate Suzuki publishes on the website https://suzukitrade.com.

Suzuki does not charge a proxy buying fee and does not charge a proxy bidding fee. The exchange rate may change over time, so you should check the currently published exchange rate before placing an order.

When is the exchange rate locked in?

The exchange rate is locked in at the time you place the order. After the order is created, later charges arising for the same item will use the locked-in exchange rate for that item.

Examples of charges that may arise later include Japan domestic shipping fee from the seller to the warehouse, surcharges charged by the seller or marketplace, or an additional amount that needs to be paid at the seller’s request. If there is an amount that needs to be paid, you will see the request in "Payment management" ("Quản lý thanh toán").

How is the amount in VND rounded?

After conversion from JPY to VND, the amount to be paid is rounded up to the nearest thousand VND. This rounding method applies to the amount in VND displayed and collected on Suzuki.

  1. 1

View the item price in JPY

Check the item price on the product page or in your cart before placing the order.

  2. 2

View the currently published exchange rate

Go to the website https://suzukitrade.com to view the Suzuki exchange rate being applied at the time you are preparing to place the order.

  3. 3

    Check your Suzuki Balance

You need enough Balance to pay the item price and any known charges at the time of ordering. If it is not enough, the website will show the missing amount and display the "Add funds" ("Nạp thêm") button.

  4. 4

Place the order to lock in the exchange rate

When you place the order successfully, the exchange rate for that item is locked in. Later charges arising for the same item will use this exchange rate.

Which charges can use the locked-in exchange rate?

AmountHow the exchange rate is applied
Item priceConverted according to the exchange rate at the time of ordering.
Japan domestic shipping fee known when orderingCalculated at the same time as the order and kept for the order.
Surcharges arising later for the same itemUse the exchange rate locked in when you ordered that item.
Additional services selected when orderingCalculated according to the information displayed when you place the order.
If the actual price is higher or the seller charges additional fees, you may receive a surcharge payment request in "Payment management" ("Quản lý thanh toán"). For surcharges caused by the seller increasing the price, you may refuse to pay and the link will be canceled; for Yahoo! Auctions specifically, the surcharge is mandatory.
