Prohibited or restricted goods when buying and shipping from Japan

How to handle items that risk being refused for purchase, bidding, receipt, or shipping.

Updated 29/09/2026

Suzuki has the right to refuse proxy buying, proxy bidding, receiving package forwarding items, or shipping goods to Vietnam if the item is prohibited, restricted, or high-risk under Japanese law, Vietnamese law, marketplace regulations, and carrier regulations.

Some common examples include weapons and weapon-like items, and flammable or explosive goods. Batteries and liquids may be limited in shipping method. For items with signs of risk, Suzuki may hold them for inspection before purchase, bidding, receipt, or shipping.

Customers must accurately declare the item name, category, photos, and notes when creating a Ship-for-me order. Incorrect declarations may cause the goods to be refused for processing or lead to an inspection step.

Before placing a purchase or bid

  1. 1

    Check the item information

Carefully read the description, photos, condition, and delivery terms posted by the seller. The item information is published by the seller; Suzuki does not inspect goods before purchase.

  2. 2

Contact us when you are unsure

If the item contains batteries, liquids, flammable or explosive forms, sharp objects, weapon replicas, or special delivery conditions, you should send a chat message and the link so Suzuki can check whether it can be processed.

  3. 3

Wait for the result if the item is held for inspection

Some items may be held for staff to inspect before placing a purchase or bid. If refused before purchase, the money is refunded to your Balance.

When bidding on Yahoo! Auctions

For Yahoo! Auctions, some items require inspection before placing a bid, for example if the seller only delivers in person, does not ship, or the item belongs to a restricted group. In that case, you will see the notice "restricted product, please wait for the system to check".

If the item is approved, the system will place the bid according to your action. If it is not approved, the system will not place the bid. The inspection result depends on each item, the delivery conditions, and the risk at the time of processing.

When creating a Ship-for-me order

  1. 1

Go to the correct package forwarding function

Click "Create order" ("Tạo đơn") then select "Create Ship-for-me order" ("Tạo đơn ship hộ").

  2. 2

    Declare the correct information

Enter the Japan domestic tracking number, item name, category, photos, notes, and choose air shipping or sea shipping. The declared information is the basis for Suzuki to identify and process the package.

  3. 3

    Monitor notices from Suzuki

Goods are only considered received when Suzuki confirms warehouse entry. If the package shows signs of being prohibited or restricted, Suzuki will notify you for handling on a case-by-case basis.

Prohibited or restricted goods may not be purchasable, biddable, receivable at the warehouse, or shippable to Vietnam. You should ask in advance before paying or sending goods to Suzuki's Japan warehouse.
